Few will argue that the economic crash that started in 2007 is the worst global recession since World War II.
The causes have been well documented and need little additional comment. What does deserve scrutiny, however, is what lessons have been learned – and whether they are the right ones to prevent another, even similarly severe, global crash. If historical considerations are anything to go by, the answers are not encouraging.
